We've just lifted our potatoes on the allotment creating an opportunity to plant seeds which we hope will journey safely through the winter and reward us with an early crop of cut flowers in the spring. Cornflower and Nigella have just gone in with Larkspur and Calendula to follow. We are planting alongside vegetables such as beetroot, radish and turnip and hope to minimize the amount of earth left bare through the winter to reduce erosion and increase habitat for insect life.
