Giving Flowers held its first trustees meeting on the 18th February 2026 when our constitution was agreed and signed and we formally became an 'unincorporated association'. The constitution, based on a model recommended by the Charities Commission, sets out how the charity will be governed with a focus on its three objectives:
to promote and facilitate, for the benefit of the public and the natural environment in the Dorking area, the growing of flowers organically, sustainably and locally to help increase food sources for insects and pollinators
to cut and gift freshly created bouquets of flowers to people in our local community to help promote and benefit social cohesion and connection within the Dorking community
to advance the education of the public in the conservation, protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment .
The Giving Flowers team is currently working on a business plan to deliver these objectives over the next few years and continues with the planting of seeds and the nurturing of plants as the hopeful signs of spring are appearing everywhere.

Great job! One step along the way! Wishing you lots of positive energy in the Dorking community to support your growing work.
