The Butterfly Conservation charity declared a national 'Butterfly Emergency' last year following the publication of it's annual Big Butterfly Count which showed a significant fall in the number of butterflies in the UK. The charity is encouraging as many people as possible to take part in this years count running from the 18th July to 10th August 2025, and to create more wild spaces in our gardens where butterflies can thrive. There is a very user friendly app available to take part in the Big Count Big Butterfly Count which only takes 15 mins to complete and helps one to identify the names of butterflies native to the UK. For more information about the butterfly conservation charity go to www.butterfly-conservation.org and for creating wild spaces Let's Create Wild Spaces - Wild Spaces
