They take an age to arrive, hoisted up on great stems, reaching high towards the sky and then, they're there - huge, magnificent, turning heads of delight for bees, birds and people. The inclusion of these great flowers in our bouquets this month have been much welcomed, backed up by Lavender, Agastache, Calendula, Cosmos, Solidago (Goldenrod) and the ever present, and cherished Buddleia. A combined harvest from the garden, allotment and a friend's garden (thank you Mel) has produced three buckets of flowers. From this we've been able to create 1 large and 10 small bouquets this week. The former was delivered to our local residential care home and the latter left at our local railway station for anyone to take and enjoy or 'pass on to someone who might be in need of some flowers'. A huge shout out to the staff at Dorking Station for being so welcoming of the delivery. We will be watching with interest to see how quickly they are picked up.
